The Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) and the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation is partnering to address road incidences involving minors and to ensure the promotion and protection of the rights of children at risk (CAR) and children in conflict with the law (CICL).
“JJWC is grateful to NLEX Corporation for this collaboration of wits, resources, and passion between the government and the private sector to pursue the welfare of children,” said JJWC Executive Director Atty. Tricia Clare A. Oco.
In line with this partnership, JJWC has set the conduct of the Orientation on Integrated Care Management Protocol (ICMP) in Handling CAR and CICL cases for NLEX Corporation officials and staff, Barangay officials, Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) representatives, and City Mayors. There will be two batches of orientation, the first batch was conducted last July 20, 2022 for the National Capital Region participants and the second batch will be on August 12, 2022 for the Region III participants.
This activity aims to capacitate local government officials on the proper procedure in handling CAR and CICL, identify issues and concerns on handling incidents involving minors, and commit and formulate an action plan to address concerns on CAR and CICL cases.
“We at JJWC hope that this collaboration will lead to stronger ties, better inter-barangay partnerships, safer homes, and brighter future for our children dahil sa Juvenile Justice Law, ang bawat isa ay kaisa sa pagkamit ng pagbabago,” Atty. Oco stressed.
