13th JJWEEK: ENVISIONS A SAFER AND MORE INCLUSIVE PH FOR EVERY CHILD

On the 13th year celebration of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness Week (JJWeek) on November 24 – 30, 2024, the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) focuses on the vision of a nation where every child can thrive, dream, and achieve, regardless of his/her background or past challenges in a safer, kinder, and more inclusive community.

With the theme, “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Bata May Pag-Asa: Ligtas na Lipunan para sa Bagong Henerasyon”, JJWC aims for the celebration to provide a platform for children in conflict with the law (CICL) residing in Bahay Pag-Asa (BPA) to express their views, concerns, and recommendations on the strengthening of the JJWA implementation, showcase the creativity of children through a logo-making contest on how the juvenile justice law provides hope to children at risk (CAR) and CICL and change for the better, and to honor the invaluable contribution of duty-bearers and stakeholders on the full implementation of the law.

“The lined-up activities for the 13th JJWeek were designed to give our children and youth a voice to speak their piece, a space to express themselves, and a platform to explore their dreams and ideas,” said JJWC Executive Director, Atty. Tricia Clare A. Oco.

The week-long celebration will open with the Kick-Off Activity with a storytelling and art session for children on November 25, 2024, in Quezon City.

While activities for children and youth include the Logo Making Contest, open to all Filipino children, and the Advocacy Forum for BPA residents on November 26, 2024, in Quezon City.

To close the celebration, the Culminating Activity will highlight the Awarding of Winners of the Logo Making Contest and Juvenile Justice Management and Information System Best Utilizer, Launch of the Search for BPA Good Practice, and Recognition of Partners.
