JJWC ENJOINS CHILDREN AND YOUTH TO EXPRESS THEIR ARTISTRY THRU PHOTO ESSAY

The Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) invites children to show-off their visual story-telling skills by participating in the 9th Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness Week Photo Essay Contest this November 2020.

The contest aims to engage the participation of children to promote appreciation of activities or dynamics within the household while complying with the community quarantine protocols and to increase awareness on child protection and positive parenting.

The Photo Essay Contest is open to all Filipino children, male or female, ages 15-17 years old who are enrolled in any public or private schools and alternative learning system (ALS) centers within the Philippines.

The theme of the contest is centered on “Child Protection and Positive Parenting amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic” which should be captured in a photo story format.

The materials to be submitted must be an original work of the contestant.

All interested individuals must pre-register at https://forms.gle/jbzEs6ZMF9yv7Ntw8 from October 9-16, 2020.

Submission of entries will be from October 14 to November 3, 2020 via email at acd.jjwc@gmail.com with the e-mail subject: 9thJJWeek Photo Essay Contest_Name of the Contestant.

All entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
• Relevance to the theme – 30%
• Creativity – 30%
• Composition – 20%
• Uniqueness and originality – 20%

Top three winners will receive cash prizes: P15,000 (1st place), P10,000 (2nd place), and P5,000 (3rd place) and two (2) winners of Audience Choice Award to receive a cash prize of P2,000.

Awarding of winners will be on November 27, 2020 during the 9th JJWeek Culminating Event which also coincides with the culmination of the National Children’s Month.
